ABOUT WHISTON PRE-SCHOOL
Whiston Pre-School is OFSTED registered offering care and education in a nurturing and safe family environment. Situated within the grounds of Whiston J & I School with a creative outdoor play area for explorers and adventurers to discover new and exciting ways to learn.
Who can enrol?
We welcome local children from
2 years to 5 years old.
What are the opening hours?
We open from 8:00am - 4:00pm
Term time only.
Our session times run from
8:00 am - 4:00 pm
A little more information.
We have up to 24 children per session. We currently care for 65 children in total.
Our staff provide a friendly and welcoming environment for new starters as well as keeping things fun for the older ones while learnng new skills and socialising.
Guidlines and meeting your needs
We work on an adult child ratio at pre-school, this is statutory guidance form Ofsted.
The ratios are 1:5 for 2 yr olds, 1:8 for 3 yr olds and 1:2 for children requiring additional support.
If you need to change your child's day or extend their hours as a one off / emergency we will try to help but cannot always accommodate your needs and it needs to be requested with as much notice as possible.

Session Times
We are open from 8am until 4:30pm.
Our session times do apply.
2 year olds can stay between 2.5 hours and 4 hours a session and 3 and 4 year olds can stay up to 8 hours per day.
Payments & Funding
Payments & Funding
We receive funding for your children from R.M.B.C. This entitles some children up to 30 hours a week funding.
The funding starts for 3 year olds the first term after their birthdays.
Terms times begin, Autumn 1st sept, Spring 1st January and Summer 1st April.
Any additional hours can be bought, if available, at a cost of £4.50 per hour.
We ask that is payable in ADVANCE, weekly monthly or in full . By BACS, cheque or if needed cash.
We are a charity and need this money to pay wages and bills , so please try not to put us in the position of having to ask for your fees. If you are struggling to pay please see Amanda as soon as possible.
